Building The LEGO Death Star Final Duel Set

LEGO recently released a new line of Star Wars sets and looks to be awesome in their own way. With The Force Awakens upon us, we wanted to take a look back a new set based on an old movie - the Death Star Final Duel set straight out of Episode VI.

Join us in the video below to unbox and build the LEGO Death Star Final Duel set!

At $79.99, the Death Star Final Duel set is priced quite modestly. It offers a 724 piece build, which is on par with the LEGO Quinjet City Chase we recently reviewed, packing 722 pieces at the exact same price. What sets the Death Star Final Dual set apart, though, is the many different features it has once constructed.

The set can be enjoyed in other ways than just looking at it. For those who enjoy playing with their sets after building, this is perfect. The staircase to the Emperor's throne can launch a character out of battle, the second floor collapses to send your minifigure crashing to the ground, the bridge extends, the doors open... the list goes on! There is even a lightsaber which can launch from behind Emperor Palpatine into battle as your Jedi minifigures use the Force to arm themselves.

The detail is also second-to-none. The bricks alone build the setting for battle, but the set also includes a small number of stickers which serve as an added bonus.

Then, of course, there are the minifigures. Two Royal Guards stand outside the entrance, trying to keep Luke Skywalker out. It would be foul not to mention the Luke Skywalker figure even features the glove Luke wears over his prosthetic hand. Darth Vader's body looks great but his mask is what will win your respect. And, of course, Emperor Palpatine looks as evil as can be atop his throne.

Overall, the set is one of the best offered in its respective price range. For $79.99, both collectors and casual LEGO fans looking for something to play with can find a spot for the LEGO Death Star Final Battle set. To get your own, you can check out the LEGO Shop online, Wal Mart, Toys 'R' Us, or any toy vendor which carries LEGOs.

If you need a fix on LEGO Star Wars in the mean time, we advise you to check out LEGO Droid Tales. The second episode premieres on Disney XD, August 24, telling the tales of Star Wars Episodes I - VI in chronological order from the perspective of R2-D2 and C-3PO! Between the LEGO Star Wars sets and the LEGO Droid Tales series, you have ample ways to prepare for The Force Awakens.
