With Blade Runner 2 and Alien: Covenant already in the works, Ridley Scott is reportedly also in talks to take on an adaptation of a TV classic.
Deadline reports Scott is in talks with Universal to direct The Prisoner, from a 1968 British TV series starring Patrick McGoohan.
The series followed a British former secret agent known only as Number 6, who is abducted and held prisoner in a mysterious coastal village resort, where his captors try to find out why he abruptly resigned from his job. The show's influence was long, with its imagery and approach influencing not only TV but film and not only spy thrillers, but science fiction and more.
Scott's 2015 hit The Martian is nominated for several Golden Globes this weekend, including Best Director for Scott.
