China couldn't handle Deadpool's sweet violence, delicious nudity and naughty language, so they banned it. Perhaps that is why 20th Century Fox marketing has switched gears in the past 24 hours and focused on international territories with special greetings for Australia and now Russia.
The film's star, Ryan Reynolds, released a special Deadpool message and image for Russian fans.
"Russia, well, here I come! How about a tilt on a wine-glass of vodka under your mom's cabbage soup for my visit? #DeadpoolMoscow," Reynolds tweeted.
Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Deadpool hits theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
