Suicide Squad Confirmed To Be Targeting PG-13 Rating

Despite generally unfounded speculation following the success of Deadpool, Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad movie is still targeting a PG-13 rating, just like it always was.

"I think right now we're going for the PG-13. I don't know that that's going to materially change," producer Charles Roven told EW. "We can give that movie the edge that it needs and still maintain a PG-13."

It's easy enough to imagine that a film whose protagonists are a murderous band of supervillains might court an R-rating, especially given the gritty and somewhat seedy aesthetic of the film, but alas, that seems not to be the case.

It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world's most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government's disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren't picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it's every man for himself?
