The first trailer for the upcoming The Great Wall movie has been released online.
An adaptation of a short story by Franz Kafka, The Great Wall examines the enclosure and protection of Europe by a complex and growing system of walls, fences and systems of exclusion.
Director by Zhang Yimou, the man behind House of Flying Daggers, The Great Wall stars Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe, Andy Lau and Jing Tian. Surprisingly enough, the fantastical movie is actually a story of monsters rather than one might think by its title. It is partially written by World War Z author Max Brooks.
The Great Wall is the most expensive Chinese movie of all time. It is described as gargantuan in scale to match the gigantic wall it is retelling the story of.
The Great Wall is set for release February 17, 2017.
