The Jungle Book IMAX Featurette Released
04/15/2016 03:35 pm EDT
With The Jungle Book opening this weekend, many moviegoers will have to decide whether or not they want to shell out more money to see the film in IMAX. To help with that decision, director Jon Favreau (Iron Man) explains the benefits of the IMAX experience in this new video.
"Our offices that we were using were right down the block from the IMAX headquarters," Favreaus says. "What was great was that we could go over to IMAX and their beautiful screening rooms and see what the film is like as we were finishing up. Especially in a film like Jungle Book where you're immersed in a jungle environment that's completely digitally created. And these animals are digitally created. You feel like you're being drawn into this experience. And of course the sound quality, the image size. It's very immersive. You're seeing a digital image, projected the size of a wall, and you lose track of the edges of the frame and you feel like you're just in that environment."
The Jungle Book opens in theaters April 15, 2016.
