Winnie The Pooh Movie Christopher Robin Adds Brad Garrett As Eeyore

Everyone's favorite walking frown Eeyore is coming to live-action, and now Disney has officially cast an actor in the beloved role.

The talented and Emmy award winner Brad Garrett will lend his voice to the lovable Disney character (via The Tracking Board). He joins a cast that consists of Ewan McGregor as a grown-up Christopher Robin, Haley Atwell as Christopher Robin's wife, and Bronte Carmichael who will play their daughter. The only other cast member right now is Mark Gatiss, who will play Christopher's demanding boss.

As for the 100-Acre Wood side of things, Winnie the Pooh will be once again voiced by Jim Cummings.

As for Garrett, the actor has a long running relationship with Disney. He's played characters in films like A Bug's Life (Dim), Finding Nemo (Bloat), Ratatouille (Gusteau), Finding Dory (Bloat), Tangled (Hook Hand Thug), Planes (Chug), and The Country Bears (Fred Bedderhead), as well as series like Timon & Pumba (Boss Beaver) and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (Torque).

The film will revolve around Ewan McGregor's Christopher Robin, who is all grown up now with a family, leaving the 100-acre wood in his past. It won't remain there though and will open the door for a reunion between Robin and beloved characters like Winnie The Pooh, Rabbit, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet.

The screenplay is being written by Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures) and will be directed by Marc Foster (World War Z/Quantum of Solace).

Christopher Robin joins the rapidly expanding line of Disney live-action films, which aside from one or two misses have all hit the mark both critically and commercially. Disney's last live-action project, Beauty and the Beast, cleaned up at the box office. On a budget of $160 million, Beauty and the Beast brought in over $504 million domestically with a worldwide total of over $1.2 billion.

That followed the successful outings for The Jungle Book, Maleficent, and Cinderella, with plenty more coming down the pike. Live-action interpretations for classics like Aladdin, The Lion King, and Mulan are already in production, and a sequel to The Jungle Book is also coming.
