Writer Steve Knight tells Thompson on Hollywood that the sequel to World War Z will likely be pretty different from the original film.
"It's not quite like the other," he says, "we're starting with clean slate. When they've signed off we're on."
2013's World War Z was a film adaptation of the book by Max Brooks. The film was written for screen by Matthew Michael Carnahan, Drew Goddard, Damon Lindelof, and J. Michael Straczynski, and directed by Marc Forster. It starred Brad Pitt as United Nations investigator Gerry Lane, travelling the world to try to find a way to stop a zombie pandemic.
The sequel will be directed by Juan Antonio Bayona.
