Zendaya Confirms Spider-Man Movie Role

Zendaya has confirmed that she will be a part of Sony's upcoming Spider-Man reboot. The Disney Channel star verified the news on an episode of Ellen.

"I can't say anything else other than I'm going to be in it," Zendaya told host Ellen DeGeneres, refusing to let her role slip out. Previous reports peg Zendaya for a "key role" in the movie, as a character named Michelle.

She's also unaware of when filming starts, saying, "I have no idea … to be completely honest.

"But it's very exciting," she continued, "when it comes to the acting space, I am basically unknown. I've never been in a real movie before or anything like that, so I had to start from the bottom like anyone else."

Sony's next Spider-Man will be the first since making a deal with Marvel Studios to allow the character to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The new Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland, will make his debut in Captain America: Civil War.

Check out the Spider-Man reboot, Captain America: Civil War, and other movies are coming out in ComicBook.com's Movie Release Schedule.
