A Reddit User Correctly Guessed The Star Wars: Episode VIII Title Over A Year Ago

While the announcement of the new Star Wars: Episode VIII title has taken much of the world by surprise, one super-fan had it pegged all along.

News broke this morning that Episode VIII had officially been titled The Last Jedi. Over a year ago however, a Reddit user said that exact title was one of three solid options for the new movie.

User Trumundo posted a question in the movies subreddit last year, asking others what they thought could be the title of Episode VIII.

Another user broke down the titles of the previous seven films, and deduced that there was definitely a formula. Following that, hundreds of people made their thoughts on the issue known.

Trumundo went back and edited the intitial question, stating that they had three possible titles - given the rules and patterns that had been laid out.

UP NEXT: Who Is The Last Jedi?

These titles were Prophecy Of The Sith, The Sith Prophecy, and The Last Jedi (plural). The word Jedi can be singular or plural, so Trumundo was hinting that it would be referring to a group of Jedi, not just one.

Props to Trumundo, you had the jump on the rest of us.
