Details Finally Emerge About Benicio Del Toro's The Last Jedi Character

With 2015's The Force Awakens, Star Wars fans had to meet all-new heroes and villains, in addition to having to say goodbye to familiar faces. Although many of the characters from that film return for The Last Jedi, one new character is DJ, played by Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro.

Many rumors have swirled about the new character, with Del Toro recently revealing to Entertainment Weekly, "DJ is part of the mission that John Boyega's Finn and Kelly Marie Tran's Rose undertake to the wealthy, gambling resort city of Canto Bight. But...do they bring him there? Do they capture him there? Do they free him there?"

Clearly the actor wants to keep his character shrouded in mystery, refusing to offer up the pertinent details.

Kelly Marie Tran, however, shared a little bit more about DJ, or at least, spilled the details on what it's like working with Del Toro.

"When I was onset with that character, I felt like there was a tiger in the room, and I always had to be watching," Tran explained. "Like an animal, at any moment he could do something, and I didn't know what."

Does this mean DJ is potentially untrustworthy, or are these just comments about Del Toro's ferocious performance?

Audiences will have to wait to see DJ's true allegiances when The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The film will deal with Luke training Rey to become a, and possibly the last, Jedi. Meanwhile, the Resistance, including Poe Dameron and First Order defector Finn, continues to fight against the First Order, led by General Hux, while Supreme Leader Snoke and his Dark Side follower Kylo Ren continue their mysterious plot.
