Mark Hamill Mocks Death Hoax Tweet

06/16/2017 03:38 pm EDT

At least Mark Hamill has a sense of humor about his premature demise.

Hamill took to social media to poke fun at an account that tried to rile the Star Wars fanbase with an incorrect obituary.

The account, clearly trying to pass itself off as a part of the Huffington Post conglomerate -- but with fewer than 200 followers -- tweeted out: BREAKING: Mark Hamill actor who played Luke Skywalker dies at 65. #MayTheForceBeWithYou #TheLastJedi #NewTwitter #lobsterday #WarriorsParade

To which the actor promptly replied and pinned his post to his Twitter page: MUCH OF NATION MOURNS-RIP @HamillHimself a wonderful-underrated & beloved icon-Truly a legend in his own mind #SoGladIGotToMeetHim #KindaSad

Hamill is, of course, legendary for his role as Luke Skywalker and has stayed in the public eye through not only nostalgia but reviving the role in the latest Star Wars films as well as becoming the iconic voice of The Joker.

Hamill originated his Joker voice on Batman: The Animated Series, and his reprised the role in DC Animation features and for video games, including the Batman Arkham series. For a generation who group on Batman cartoons, toys, and video games, his voice is the definitive interpretation of DC Comics' "Clown Prince of Crime." -- and has since gotten political with the election results.

Hamill released his first Trumpster performance in early January, using Trump's New Year's tweet as inspiration. The Trumpster returned to perform the Tweets that Trump released in response to Meryl Streep's speech at the Golden Globes, and again soon after for a performance based on Trump's tweets towards Rep. John Lewis.

Hamill took things a step further with his own tweet today, imagining what Trump might say in response to these Trumpster performances.

The next place we know we will see Hamill is in the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
