Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Finn's Pod Is Actually An Updated [SPOILER]

When Star Wars fans last saw Finn (John Boyega), the hero was down for the count, locking in some sort of coma after fighting Kylo Ren. In the trailer for The Last Jedi, Finn has made the transition to some sort of recovery pod. Many have been wondering exactly what it is the device does.

Fortunately, that question has finally been answered. Finn is recovering in a version of a bacta tank.

Vanity Fair released an in-depth preview of The Last Jedi online, and the subject of Finn was brought up. The promo photos showed the character standing normally, joining the duo of Poe and Rey, and confirming that he would be waking up at some point.

The report went on to say that this was possible because of the pod he was in. During a phone interview with Boyega, it was revealed that the machine in which his character rests is referred to as a bacta suit.

If you're familiar with Star Wars lore, the bacta tank is a term that you'll certainly recognize. This device heals tissue that has been damaged, and was the key to keeping Darth Vader alive for a number of years.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters Dec. 15, 2017.
