The Last Jedi Footage Reveals Rey, Finn, Chewbacca, And Poe Reunion

Disney's D23 Expo was packed with a ton of amazing details for many of its wide-ranging properties. While fans might not have heard all of the Star Wars announcements they wanted, such as the title of the Han Solo movie or the production of an Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff, there was tons of new footage from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

No, there was't a trailer, but the behind-the-scenes video for the upcoming film in the Star Wars saga was just as good. The footage confirmed a lot of rumors that have been swirling about, but it also opened the floodgates to a lot more speculation given the reveals it packed in its short 3-minute runtime.

One of the most intriguing visuals seemed to confirm that Rey and Finn would reunite in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, alongside Poe, Rose, and Chewbacca.

A clip shows Rey and Finn dancing amid the salt-dusted planet that could be Crait. The lore behind Rogue One: A Star Wars Story already established Crait as a former Rebellion planet that's now home to the Resistance, and scenes from the trailer indicate that Crait will be discovered by First Order forces.

More footage shows Rey, Poe Dameron, Rose, and Finn's actors (Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Kelly Marie Tran, and John Boyega, respectively) all taking a break between scenes, sharing laughs in a setting that shares the same architecture we see surrounding Carrie Fisher's Leia Organa in footage and behind-the-scenes photographs.

That same architecture is shown midway in the video when Rian Johnson is doing his best Chewbacca impression while shooting scenes with the Wookie. We can't help but notice that Luke Skywalker was not shown in any of these scenes.

Does this mean this will be one of the first times that all of the sequel trilogy's main characters are present and lucid in the same location? We hope so. While Star Wars: The Force Awakens did not feature the reunion we wanted to see between Leia, Luke, Chewie, and Han Solo, we have come to love the new trilogy's main characters and hope they get to share some screen time.

We'll find out when Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in theaters on December 15.
