Star Wars: Rogue One Passes $300 Million At Box Office

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is coming in hot off of a successful Christmas holiday weekend at the box office. With the Monday box office totals now tallied. Rogue One has crossed another milestone.

With the $31.8 million earned on Monday, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has officially crossed $300 million at the domestic box office.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has now earned a running total of $318.2 million domestic, bringing its global total up to $573.8 million.

That total isn't quite Star Wars: The Force Awakens money, but it certainly sounds like a win for Lucasfilm's first Star Wars movie to not focus on the Skywalker saga or bear and episode number. A new hope for the franchise indeed.

In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is written by Gareth Edwards and written by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy, from a story by John Knoll and Gary Whitta. The film star Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is now playing in theaters.
