First Order Finn Wields Familiar Weapon In New Toy

After betraying the First Order and becoming a "big deal" in the Resistance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Finn is set to have a huge adventure in the next entry in the saga when he goes undercover.

We've seen glimpses of the traitor's journey into the heart of the First Order from the behind-the-scenes video for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, in which he's dressed in an officer's garb accompanied by newcomer Rose. Now we have a better look at the character in his First Order disguise.

The reveal comes from a product image of Finn's new Star Wars: The Black Series figure, which also includes an interesting weapon.

Finn looks pretty intimidating in that First Order officer's uniform, but the figure is intriguing due to the fact that he's wielding a Z6 riot control baton.

You'll likely remember that weapon from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in which First Order Stormtrooper FN-2199 uses it in a close-quarters battle against Finn.

Given that Finn will be surrounded by First Order forces for a portion of the movie, him getting his hand on the weapon isn't out of the realm of possibility. It'll be interesting to see if he actually does, because the baton's inclusion in a toy doesn't automatically mean the character will use it in the film.

But if he does, he's likely already had experience with it given his training as a Stormtrooper. In fact, we get to see Finn training alongside the Stormtrooper who would declare him a traitor in the "Before the Awakening" book by writer Greg Rucka and Phil Noto.

We hope we get to see the weapon reappear, and maybe the return of fan-favorite FN-2199, when Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in theaters December 15.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The film will deal with Luke training Rey to become a, and possibly the last, Jedi. Meanwhile, the Resistance, including Poe Dameron and First Order defector Finn, continues to fight against the First Order, led by General Hux, while Supreme Leader Snoke and his Dark Side follower Kylo Ren continue their mysterious plot.
