'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Theater Display Hints At [SPOILER] Turning To Dark Side

As new information, images, and trailers have been released to the public as the next Star Wars movie approaches, fans have been debating theories of the motives of the titular Last Jedi.
Is Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) still good? Is he leaning toward Sith teachings? Or will he maintain a balance between the two in Star Wars: The Last Jedi?
While the latest trailer that debuted during Monday Night Football raised more questions than it answers, some fans weren't convinced Luke was embracing his father's influence. But some new imagery from IMAX theaters might change that. Check out the tweet below to see for yourself…
While Luke appeared in light-colored robes when Rey (Daisy Ridley) found him on a sacred island in Ahch-To at the end of The Force Awakens, subsequent images have shown him donning dark and black clothes.
A couple of magazine covers even showed him looking similar to Anakin Skywalker right after he pledged his allegiance to Palpatine.
But these images? They seem intentionally... duplicitous.
Having Luke on one side with the Resistance and their allies, while also hooded and on the side of the First Order, has to be done with intention. It could have a few different meanings, like both sides exist in the shadow of Skywalker's actions or that he'll turn on one faction for the other, but we won't know for sure until Star Wars: The Last Jedi debuts in theaters.
Then again, it might not mean anything at all! After all, the newest poster for the upcoming film seems to split the forces of Light and Dark down the middle, with Luke looming large up top. But Poe Dameron, the ace pilot of the Resistance, is on the side of the First Order. Does that mean he's going to turn out evil? Or is it just a design choice to balance out the poster?
Either way, it's telling about the Star Wars fandom when simple marketing images are pored over and decoded so meticulously. We'll see if our theories bear any fruit when Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in theaters on December 15.
