Star Wars: Oscar Isaac Teases 'Crisis' Ahead For Poe Dameron In The Last Jedi

It's no secret that Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be a much darker movie than previous films in the franchise. However, Oscar Isaac has revealed that the character arcs in the movie are much more devastating than anyone had initially thought.

The actor - who plays Poe Dameron in the Star Wars films - has been doing press for his new movie, The Promise. In each of these interviews, Isaac is undoubtedly going to be asked about his role as Poe, and what people can expect heading into The Last Jedi.

This was exactly the case when Isaac did an interview with The Guardian. He was asked about the upcoming Star Wars film, and the actor wasn't afraid to reveal just how dark this film could get.

"The characters that you know already: their specific character flaws or their weaknesses get tested. And out of that, I think, you get to see a bit more of who they are. The best way to learn about somebody is to see them in a crisis."

Crisis is a strong word, but it looks like that's what we can expect from Poe, Rey, and Finn - the film's main characters.

The first trailer for The Last Jedi teased certainly hinted at some tough times for the trio. Poe's X-Wing was destroyed in an attack on the rebellion's base, Finn is still in a coma, and Rey is in the midst of her difficult Jedi training.

When you head to theaters this December, your favorite characters will definitely be struggling. If The Empire Strikes Back is any indication, things may be getting worse before they get better.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi, from writer/director Rian Johnson, is in post-production now for a December 15, 2017 release. The film follows-up and continues the story of the next generation of the saga as Rey, Poe, Finn, and Kylo Ren find their place in the galaxy and follow the legacy of Luke Skywalker, Leia, and Han Solo. Daisy Ridley returns to star as Rey, with other returning stars John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Mayhew, Andy Serkis, Anthony Daniels, Lupita Nyong'o Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa. Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern join the cast in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
