Star Wars: We May Not Learn Much About Snoke In The Last Jedi

When it comes to Star Wars: The Last Jedi, fans expect the film to unravel lots of secrets. Audiences want to know everything about Rey's gifts to Luke Skywalker's self-imposed exile. Still, when it comes down to it, fans are most interested in learning more about Supreme Leader Snoke. The shadowy figure briefly appeared in The Force Awakens, prompting fans to go on online speculation sprees.

So, naturally, lots of fans are going to be disappointed with how the character is handled in The Last Jedi. According to Vanity Fair reporter David Kamp, the next Star Wars film won't give many answers about the mysterious villain.

Kamp was the lucky reporter who covered The Last Jedi recently for the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. However, not all of the reporter's information made it into the article. Kamp then took to Reddit for an AMA where he talked about his time on the film's set, and the reporter dropped one bombshell about Snoke's role in The Last Jedi during the Q&A.

"I asked Rian Johnson about Snoke —Who/what is he? —and Rian was fairly up front in saying that Snoke is not a character he particularly gets into in TLJ," Kamp told fans after being asked about the character.

There is no telling what Johnson meant about getting into Snoke, but fans are hoping they get a bit more information about the Supreme Leader soon enough. Recently, rumors about The Last Jedi have reported the villain gets more screen time in the next movie. Sites have said Snoke gets a new throne room in The Last Jedi and that the character will appear on-screen thanks to digital and practical effects. Most recently, several rumors stressed that Snoke would come face-to-face with Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi. However, those reports have not been verified, leaving fans to continue their speculation pieces about the allegations.

If Snoke is kept in the dark during The Last Jedi, fans will be begging for Episode IX to throw them a bone. Colin Trevorrow is the man overseeing the final installment of the new Star Wars trilogy, and the film's script was recently approved by Lucasfilm. Somewhere in the world right now, there are definitive answers for every question fans have about Snoke. And, if audiences are lucky, then they will get those answers sooner rather than later.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the second film in the new Star Wars sequel trilogy that began with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. The film will deal with Luke training Rey to become a, and possibly the last, Jedi. Meanwhile, the Resistance, including Poe Dameron and First Order defector Finn, continues to fight against the First Order, led by General Hux, while Supreme Leader Snoke and his Dark Side follower Kylo Ren continue their mysterious plot.
