Could The Final Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer Drop On October 9th?

That December date for Star Wars: The last Jedi seems like it will never get here, but fans can take some solace in a brand new trailer.

At least it seems that way. Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill made a fan's day on Twitter when he answers his question. The fan commented "today is a great day to release the new trailer for #StarWars," and tagged director Rian Johnson, Mark Hamill, and John Boyega. The request got a response from Hamill, who teased a new date for the next big trailer (via MakingStarWars.net).

"Watch Monday Night Football on Monday October 9th - for no reason in particular," Hamill said.

This seems to jive with other reports that a new trailer would debut in October, as well as the precedent set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The final trailer for that film also debuted in October during Monday Night Football, so it seems more than just some playful banter.

Hamill has since deleted the tweet, but you can see it in the image above.

Hamill also recently clarified some comments he made previously about his character's journey in The Last Jedi. For context, here is what he previously said.

"I at one point had to say to Rian, 'I pretty much fundamentally disagree with every choice you've made for this character," Hamill said. "Now, having said that, I have gotten it off my chest, and my job now is to take what you've created and do my best to realize your vision."

Hamill went into a bit more detail on the Tony Awards Red Carpet about those comments and what he really meant.

"I got into trouble because… I was quoted as saying to Rian that I fundamentally disagree with everything you decided about Luke, and it was inartfully [sic] phrased," Hamill told Variety. "What I was, was surprised at how he saw Luke. And it took me a while to get around to his way of thinking, but once I was there it was a thrilling experience. I hope it will be for the audience too."

It seems everyone's on the same page now, and fans can soon see the results of their hard work.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
