Exclusive: Preacher Debuts Saint Of Killers Cover Homage Poster For Season 2

Artist Glenn Fabry has returned to Preacher to recreate one his classic comic book covers for the upcoming second season of the AMC television series.

For this poster, Fabry recreated his cover for Preacher #2, featuring the Saint of Killers, played by Graham McTavish in the AMC series. Here he's holding a wanted poster for Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper on the television series. Check out the new image in the attached gallery.

McTavish made his mysterious debut as the Saint of Killers in the first season of Preacher, though he spent most of the season trapped. In Preacher's second season, the Saint of Killers is roaming the Earth and loving.

"He's off the leash. If he was on the leash in the first season. I'm not sure he was," McTavish tells ComicBook.com in an interview. "But now he's really after them. But I think what's interesting about it is that it isn't just about a sort of relentless Terminator-like pursuit across the New Orleans landscape. It becomes a much more interesting emotional journey for the Saint as much as anything else, while still providing a staggeringly high body count that my character contributes to the show. He doesn't do things in surgical fashion, the Saint. There's a lot of collateral damage when he arrives on the scene."

Fabry is an Eisner award-winning British artist who provided the covers for the original Vertigo Comics run of Preacher. He's also worked on Judge Dredd, The Authority, and Neverwhere.

Based on the popular cult comic book franchise of the same name, Preacher is an absurdly twisted and action packed thrill ride. When Jesse Custer, a small-town preacher with a criminal past, realizes God is absent from Heaven, Jesse sets out to find Him. Along for the ride are Tulip, Jesse's volatile true love, and Cassidy, an 119-year-old Irish vampire and Jesse's best mate. The gang ends up in New Orleans, where they must dodge local gangsters, dangerous secret agents in white suits, and the Saint of Killers, an unstoppable killer cowboy from Hell.

Developed by Sam Catlin, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen for AMC, Preacher stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as Tulip O'Hare, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, Ian Colletti as Eugene "Arseface" Root, Tom Brooke as Fiore, Graham McTavish as the Saint of Killers.

Preacher was created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon.

Preacher returns to AMC for the two-night season two premiere June 25 at 10 p.m. ET and June 25 at 9 p.m. ET.
