They've always said the truth is out there, and today it's been uncovered. Following a ton of rumors and speculation, FOX has announced that The X-Files will, once again, return to its line-up for another event season.

The show returned with a 10-episode revival last year, and FOX was happy enough with the numbers to order one more. According to Deadline's report, the new 10-episode series will start production in the summer.

"Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why The X-Files has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide," said Fox Broadcasting Company Prez David Madden. "Chris' creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can't wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files."

This new season will mark the show's 11th to-date.
