WWE: Ryback Claims Triple H And WWE Don't Want Another John Cena

Ryback is certainly getting a myriad of things off his chest, and his latest comments depict a WWE sans superstars like The Rock and John Cena.

On the latest episode of Conversations With The Big Guy, Ryback brought up a conversation between him and Triple H, one that took place before he left the WWE (via IWNerd). There is a certain degree of power that WWE holds over the industry simply due to its large size and storied history, but Ryback says that control isn't enough for them. Ryback says that the company keeps its foot firmly planted on top of superstars so that they can't ascend past a certain point.

"Hunter [has] told me directly [that WWE does not want young talent to have economic freedom]. He goes, 'we never want another marquee name here in the WWE.' This was during my first contract negotiations Yeah, legit told me, he goes, 'we're never going to have another John Cena.' And if you look, that's why they book guys the way they book them. They don't want guys to have too much power anymore"

It doesn't make sense that the WWE wouldn't want to build stars that transcend just wrestling, as the attention, they get just brings more eyeballs to the core product. That said when you get people like Lesnar, The Rock, and Cena all having valid outlets for their talent, it makes it harder to keep them around, and it's not like the WWE hasn't been known for its micromanagement either.

Still, that's a very aggressive claim, and it will be interesting to see if Triple H or Stephanie McMahon have anything to say in response to Ryback's allegations.
