5 Things We Want to See In Beauty and the Beast

Next spring, fans will finally see Disney's latest live-action remake come to theaters when Beauty and the Beast premieres. The iconic love story debuted back in 1991 in an award-winning animated feature that introduced fans to characters like Belle, The Beast, and more.

It's been more than 20 years since the beloved fairytale was created, but Beauty and the Beast continues to capture the hearts of moviegoers everywhere. Disney's live-action remake of the classic will bring the story to a new generation who are sure to fall for tale as old as time - but there are things older fans want the movie to borrow from its predecessor.

Belle Reading To The Beast

In Beauty and the Beast, fan first met Belle when the precocious young lady was on her way to return a book to her village's library. They learned that the heroine had a voracious appetite for reading, and Belle had a particular fondness for fairytales featuring strong women, daring heroes, and magical worlds. So, it's appropriate that she finds herself thrust into a story worthy of any fictional bestseller.

Belle uses literature as a tool to empower her and as a means of entertainment. And, without knowing, she uses reading as a means of seduction. The original film saw Belle read to the Beast, and those scenes marked how close the pair were growing to one another. Fans absolutely want to see that trend continued, so Disney better open up its library's doors!

Flashbacks Of The Prince's Past

While fans might have hated the Beast when they met him, they quickly changed their minds once they got to know his story. Even Belle can recognize that the Beast's brutish behavior stems for a deep-seeded trauma, and she helps the transfigured man cope with his past so he can move onto his future.

In the original film, fans were told about the Beast's pride and tragic curse as story - but fans want to see flashbacks which depict the former Prince's glory.

Be Our Guest 2.0

Without a doubt, one of the most spectacular and complicated musical numbers from Beauty and the Beast resides with "Be Our Guest." The catchy number involves hundreds of animated kitchenwares and household items as they treat Belle to a lavish dinner despite the Beast's refusal. It may seem impossible for the live-action film to top the animated scene, but fans want to see how far CGI can be stretch during this number.

Fans will surely put Disney's service to the test with this request.

Epic Transformation For The Beast

Who can forget the epic transformation that the Beast undergoes at the original film's end? After a heart-wrenching scene with Belle, the Beast seemingly dies before the heroine can confess her feelings to him. But, in true fairytale fashion, the Beast is saved by Belle's loved and then transforms into an aged form of his human self.

In the animated feature, the transformation has sadly aged. It often draws comparisons to series like Sailor Moon because of its flashy transformation sequence. Disney has an opportunity to reimagine how the Beast transforms into his human self, and fans are hoping the display involves less of a light show this time around.

New Musical Numbers

When any musical gets remade, new tracks are inevitably added to its soundtrack - and Beauty and the Beast will be no different. Fans were clamoring for new music as soon as Disney confirmed they were making a live-action version of Beauty and the Beast, and their wishes were granted by composer Alan Menken.

The composer, who worked on the original film, has said three new songs will be added to Beauty and the Beast. The tracks are titled "Days in the Sun," "Forever More," and "If I Can't Love Her." With this tracks added to the remake, fans are more eager than ever to see what choreography and scenes accompany the songs.

Beauty and the Beast will be released in U.S. theaters on March 17, 2017.
