Alien: Covenant Trailer Gets Prometheus Re-Cut

As if the first official Alien: Covenant movie trailer didn't have us hyped up enough already, a fan re-cut the trailer to take on the style of the prequel Prometheus.

We noticed that eerie, extra-creepy background music right away and the space craft unknowingly headed for it's ultimate doom.

Sure, exploring a new "paradise" sounds like a great time until a strange being pops out of what looked to be a plant and directly into your face.

While it was difficult to connect Prometheus directly to the first Alien movie, Alien: Covenant will supposedly bridge the gap left between the two and explain how David's head survived.

In Alien: Covenant, headed toward a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew members of the colony ship Covenantdiscover what they believe to be an uncharted paradise, but it is actually a dark, menacing world in which the only inhabitant is the synthetic David (Michael Fassbender), a survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Alien: Covenant is director by original Alien movie helmer Ridley Scott and stars a largely new cast with the exception of Fassbender who appeared in Prometheus. Starring in Covenant are Fantastic Beasts star Katherine Waterston, Eastbound and Down alum Danny McBride, James Franco, Billy Crudup, Carmen Ejogo, and Guy Pearce. Rumors have circulated of Noomi Rapace reprising her role from Prometheus for the new movie which is, in many ways, a follow-up to the 2012 film.

Alien: Covenant opens in theaters May 19, 2017.
