Fresh off the news of Ernie Hudson making a cameo in Paul Feig's Ghostbusters, it is also being reported that another original cast member, Annie Potts (Designing Women), will be in the reboot as well.
The Boston Herald reports: "But did you know that Annie Potts, who played the boys' receptionist in the original, also has a scene in the reboot? We're told she plays a hotel clerk."
In the original Ghostbusters film, Potts played Janine Melnitz, the Ghostbusters' receptionist, who took a keen interest in Egon (Harold Ramis). In the sequel, she babysat Dana Barrett's (Sigourney Weaver) son Oscar with the awkward and shy Louis Tully (Rick Moranis), who she eventually hooked up with.
The cast includes Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Andy Garcia, Cecily Strong, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, Chris Hemsworth and Neil Casey. It's being directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat), based on a script he co-wrote with Katie Dippold.
Ghostbusters is due in theaters July 15, 2016.
