If you are wanting to tune in for the trailer, then you will need to be watching ESPN on January 9th. The video will be debuted during the College Football Playoff National Championship at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Earlier this year, fans were teased with some footage from the movie, and it left fans slack-jawed. The teaser showed the franchise's red hotrod racing at an event before McQueen found himself involved in a debilitating car wreck. The accident showed the souped-up racer flying in the air while various bits of his exterior went flying. The teaser hinted that everything would change from that moment on, and fans were taken back by the franchise's dark turn.

Of course, fans are eager to get answers about the short teaser, and those questions will surely be addressed in Disney Pixar's full-length trailer. So, even if you are not a fan of Alabama or Clemson, you will want to tune into the game to see how McQueen got himself stuck in such dire straights.

Right now, there is only one confirmed cast member associated with Cars 3 and that is Owen Wilson. The actor, who plays McQueen, will be brought back for the franchise's third installment. It is likely that Larry the Cable Guy, Bonnie Hunt, and Cheech Marin will return as well to voice Towmater, Sally, and Ramone.

In the past, the Cars films have done well at the box office. When the sequel came out, the movie raked in more than $562 million worldwide while the first movie earned $462 million.

You can view the official description for Cars 3 below:

"Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician with her own plan to win, inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet, and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn't through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing's biggest stage!"
