First Look At Peter Capaldi In Doctor Who Season 9

Just ahead of The Doctor's Hall H debut at Comc-Con International: San Diego, BBC America has revealed a first look at Peter Capaldi in Doctor Who Series 9.

Capaldi tells EW the photo (seen in full below), "shows the Doctor about to make a mistake that has cataclysmic repercussions."

Capaldii offered our first hint at what to expect from the two-part Series 9 premiere.

"It places the Doctor in a conflict that is central to his being, as well as containing some subtle tributes to the '60s, and truly wonderful guest performances."

One of the most exciting guest stars featured in Series 9 is Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams. Of working with the young actress, Capaldi said, "Maisie is fantastic. A sharp, talented tornado. As an 18-year-old, she has taught me many new words and expressions. All I'll say about her character is she shifts in cosmic ways."

On another Game of Thrones related note, Capaldi said that if he were walk the floor of the convention disguised as a monster it would most likely be one of the White Walkers, so fans should keep an eye out for any Walkers with a Scottish accent.

Doctor Who Series 9 will premiere this fall on BBC America.
