A woman claims her fifteen year old daughter was hit by a car while playing Pokemon Go. The accident occurred in Tarentum, PA, when the girl crossed a busy highway shortly after catching a Pokemon on the game.
Tracy Nolan, the girl's mother, told a local news station that the game had lured her daughter across the highway during rush hour. "The Pokemon game took her across a major highway at 5 o'clock in the evening, which is rush hour," Nolan told WPXI-TV. "No game is worth a child's life."
The girl sustained collarbone and foot injuries, as well as numerous cuts and bruises. Nolan shared several photos with the news station of her daughter in a neck brace, with large scrapes across most of her face.
Although Pokemon Go cautions players to be aware of their surroundings, accidents involving the game keep popping up. At least three car accidents have been attributed to the game. Two people also fell off a cliff while playing Pokemon Go, but they luckily survived.
Despite the injuries, Pokemon Go's popularity hasn't waned. The game is the biggest mobile app in history and is currently dominating the top charts of both the Google Play and Apple App store.
Pokemon Go is available in the United States, Australia, Germany, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
