When it comes to action movies, stunts may be one of the most dangerous things an actor can sign up for. Sure, big-wig Hollywood studios are willing to bring in professional stuntmen, but there are plenty of actors who want to take on the action for themselves. When it came to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Chris Pratt was interested in doing a few of Star-Lord's gravity-defying stunts for himself. And, now, the actor is admitting that one go at a stunt went very wrong.

Today, Pratt stopped by Live with Kelly and Ryan (via Yahoo) where he talked about shooting the Guardians sequel. It was there the actor said he and a stunt performer were doing a stunt which required them to be suspended 15 feet in the air. The pair were meant to fall to the ground with controlled speed before landing on a mat. However, things did not go as planned.

"They were gonna drop us. We are gonna land on a mat. I saw it and I thought, 'That's very fast. shouldn't you slow that down?' And they said, 'It's gonna be half that speed. That's only half the speed.' When we did the stunt, I guess they accidentally did double the speed, so essentially just dropped us in midair," Pratt explained.

While falling, Pratt said he adopted a position which wouldn't hurt the stunt performer working with him, but it made him take a hard landing.

"I turned this way and bounced my face off the mat. I saw a flash of yellow and it tasted like smoke in my mouth," Pratt finished.

Ouch. Even Star-Lord would have to admit a ringer like that hurts.
