Is This Dope Director Also In The Mix To Helm Marvel's Black Panther?

Yesterday, sources for The Wrap claimed Marvel is courting Selma director Ava DuVernay for Black Panther or Captain Marvel. Although, their sources think she is more than likely being pursued for the former, not the latter.
El Mayimbe, the super-scooper, tweeted today that another director is in the mix to direct Chadwick Boseman (Captain America: Civil War) in the Black Panther solo film.
That not-so-subtle "Dope" hint would be for the talented filmmaker Rick Famuyiwa (The Wood). He's on the rise as his latest film Dope, which he wrote and directed, created a bidding war at the Sundance Film Festival.
Sample Famuyiwa's work in the Dope trailer below.
Black Panther is scheduled to arrive in theaters July 6, 2018.
