Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman, who plays companion Clara Oswald, will reportedly leave the series after Series 9.

According to The Daily Mirror, Coleman has already filmed her final scenes as Clara and will exit the series prior to this year's Doctor Who Christmas Special.

Coleman is said to have "quit" the series after landing the lead role in ITV's upcoming drama about Queen Victoria. Both ITV and the BBC have declined to comment on the rumor.

Coleman was previously rumored to be considering leaving the show with the conclusion of Series 8, with some reports suggesting she was still considering well into the series airing. The BBC and series showrunners chose to let that rumor linger in order to keep Clara's fate in the 2014 Christmas Special a mystery. It was only after that episode concluded, with a reconciliation between Clara and the Doctor, that Coleman was officially announced as returning for Series 9.

Coleman debuted as three separate incarnations of Clara in the first half of Doctor Who Series 7. Her third incarnation became companion to Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor for the second half of the series, and continued as the Doctor's companion following his regeneration into Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor in Series 8.

Doctor Who Series 9 premieres Sept. 19.
