KJ Apa Promises Archie Will Cross Paths with the Blossoms Again on Riverdale

Minor spoilers ahead for tonight's episode of Riverdale, titled "Chapter Five: Heart of Darkness."

During Jason Blossom's funeral tonight on Riverdale, Archie Andrews approached Penelope Blossom for an unexpected gesture of kindness.

He presented her with her son's jersey, which he had been given in the pilot, and she was overcome with emotion, stroking his hair and talking about how much Archie reminds her of Jason. It was a bit unsettling for Archie, and everyone else who watched from the service.

And according to series star KJ Apa, tonight's creepy encounter won't be the end.

"I forget which episode that is, but there's one particular episode where we see Archie immersed a lot into the Blossom family," Apa told reporters during a recent set visit. "The musical side of it plays a big part of it because being the Blossoms, they are quite wealthy and they are able to help people out. He hangs out with them for a time. Expect more from that as well."
