Meet Kojima Productions' New Mascot

Legendary videogame creator Hideo Kojima is off on his own now, no longer under the thumb of a publishing house that would just as soon pretend he didn't exist (as they did at the Game Awards in L.A. last year).
Meet Ludens, the new mascot of Kojima Productions. Ludens isn't jsut some random armored warrior (though, he is also that), he's a representation of what Kojima Productions hopes to do with games.
"We'll deliver THE NEW PLAY in THE NEW FUTURE with the cutting-edge equipment, technology, and the frontier spirit," Kojima wrote while introducing the character. "The gear he's wearing is the extra-vehicular activity (EVA) creative suit."
So, what is LUDENS? Good question. This might be the main character of an upcoming Kojima game, or it might be more of a visual mission statement. Regardless, is anyone really not trying to get as much information about Kojima's next project as humanly possible?
