Resident Evil's Milla Jovovich Wants To Play Cheetara In ThunderCats Movie

Milla Jovovich is probably one of the most unlikely action stars of the 21st century - but ever since the actress broke out in The Fifth Element and started headlining the Resident Evil franchise, she's been just that. With Resident Evil: The Final Chapter clearly aiming to bring that long-running franchise to a close, it'd be easy to assume that Jovovich would want a break from the action genre. But apparently, that's not so...

Speaking with We Got This Covered during the press junket for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Jovovich revealed that she has another big geek culture franchise in mind: ThunderCats. As you can see in the interview below, Jovovich expressed interest in the 'on again, off again' ThunderCats movie reboot, playing the role of Cheetarah. Currently there is no real traction on getting the movie into production, but if producers need to a attach a headlining star to get things moving, Jovovich is definitely a good place to start.

To those who didn't grow up on original '80s cartoon, the 2011 cartoon reboot, or the comic books, toys, and other merchandise the brand launched, ThunderCats takes place when a group of cat/humanoid aliens from the planet Thundera flee their dying home world and crash land on a planet called Third Earth. Also marooned on the new world are the ThunderCats' enemies, The Mutants of Plun-Darr, who fall under sway of an ancient evil sorcerer from Third Earth, Mumm-Ra. The ThunderCats young leader, Lion-O holds the key to the balance of power in the fight: The mystic Sword of Omens. The only problem is: Lion-O has been artificially aged; so even though he's a formidable adult warrior, physically, mentally, and emotionally he's still a child who has much to learn, very quickly.

As part of that extensive mythology, Lion-O has a group of loyal followers/fellow warriors who come with him to Third Earth, and one of them is Cheetarah. A former Thunderian noble, she has the speed of a cheetah and a collapsible bo staff to fight with. She's a badass standout within the ThunderCats.
