Netflix In Negotiations To Pick Up Death Note
04/07/2016 08:41 pm EDT
Netflix is on a roll lately with new acquisitions, and they look to continue their success with Adam Wingard's Death Note.
The film will star Nat Wolff (Paper Towns) and Margaret Qualley, and will adapt the story from the original Manga series. The picture received interest from multiple studios, but Netflix appears to be the frontrunner. If all goes well, the picture will start to shoot in June, with the acquisition costing Netflix around $40 to $50 million.
Death Note is about a student (Wolff) who finds a notebook that bestows its handler the power to kill, simply by writing someone's name in the book. His efforts to create a utopian society are threatened when a detective hops on his trail.
