Josie Will Hold a Grudge Against Archie After Tonight's Riverdale

Tonight's episode of Riverdale saw a major shake-up in the world of The Pussycats, after keyboardist Valerie Brown (Hayley Law) left the band to play music with Archie Andrews (KJ Apa).

While the group reconciled at the end of the episode, Pussycats leader Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), says that the magnitude of this episode will be felt - particularly against Archie.

"It's one of those things where you forgive but you never forget." Murray explained to ComicBook.com. "I think she is still placing that distrust back on Archie. At the end of the day, Valerie was always there at the beginning, not Archie. Archie was the reason that there was a disruption in the first place, and after she forgave Valerie because she knows that she needs her for the success of her group, Archie's always going got be a problem."

This rift between the two characters was felt throughout the episode, with Josie even referring to Archie as the Yoko Ono to their group's The Beatles. Archie and Valerie's romantic relationship appears to be stronger than ever, with them kissing at the end of tonight's episode. Murray said that Josie will allow the two to explore their relationship, as long as it doesn't jeopardise the Pussycats.

"Even when there are moments when Josie has a heart and she feels for him and allows her to shine in the way that he needs, she's never going to let him get too close, that's what I feel like." Murray elaborates, saying that this rift will affect hers and Archie's relationship going forward. "Now, if I get a script, and they're like 'Josie's making eyes at Archie,' I don't know how I'm going to handle that. I hope my eyes are closed."
