Expect More Music From Riverdale's Veronica

While tonight's episode of Riverdale brought forth a whole lot of drama in the personal life of Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), it also revealed one of her hidden talents - singing.

As Veronica volunteered to be a member of The Pussycats, in the absence of their keyboardist Valerie Brown (Hayley Law), fans were treated to hearing Mendes' voice.

The actress sat down with ComicBook.com and revealed that her lending her pipes to the show wasn't originally in the season's plan.

"They didn't ask me if I could sing when I got the role, that was just something that sort of happened as we went. But Roberto [Aguirre-Sacasa, executive producer of Riverdale] quickly realized that almost this entire cast is musical, so it's like why not take advantage of that?"

Interestingly enough, similar cases have happened with other shows on The CW, if the upcoming musical crossover between Supergirl and The Flash is any indication. But with music being a core element of the goings on at Riverdale High, the show has the ability to showcase its actors singing voices without having to jump through narrative hoops.

According to Mendes, the whole process was unique, but enjoyable. "I've had a lot of sessions in the studio, and that has been super fun. I've never done that before, and making music on the show is another added benefit."

But the question is - will fans to get to hear Veronica's singing voice again? Mendes says they absolutely will.

"She performs at Homecoming and she performs at the very end [of the season]."
