Ryan Reynolds Discusses Deadpool 2 Budget

While 2016 may be remembered as the year that took so many celebrities, it's also responsible for breathing new life into Hollywood's most popular star.
Deadpool was one of the year's biggest success stories - with the film crushing in the box office and the character becoming a worldwide brand. Ryan Reynolds has also benefitted immensely form his movie's success, as he is now in a league of Hollywood all his own.
It's no surprise that Deadpool would get a sequel after the first film debuted to such strong numbers. With Reynolds being so heavily involved in the project, and the entire world ready for more, the countdown has begun for Deadpool 2.
The movie isn't without its problems however, as director Tim Miller has already left the sequel. It was said that Miller wanted to make a much higher-budget film than Reynolds, and the actor was the piece that the studio sided with. David Leitch (John Wick) shared the vision with Reynolds, so he was brought on to replace the director.
This controversy has created a lot of talk about the Deadpool 2 budget, and fans are wondering what the can expect to be spent on the film. It's obvious that 20th Century Fox is willing to shell out for the movie, but too much money could equal a not-so-Deadpool film.
In a recent interview with Variety, Reynolds spoke about the budget. His answer though, is much more ambiguous than fans were hoping for.
"The budget is not going to be phenomenally bigger," Reynolds said. "Who knows? Maybe the budget will be bigger — anything can happen."
This has become a typical Reynolds answer about details, but the first part of the response is probably pretty accurate. The creative team wants a grittier feel - similar to the first movie - so they will likely stick to a similar budget.

If the movie does get a big boost in the wallet, expect it to go into paying for actors or adding to the incredibly successful marketing scheme.
No matter how much money is involved, Deadpool 2 is set to hit theaters in 2018.
