Star Wars Land Gets ABC Preview Special Hosted by Harrison Ford
01/27/2016 06:21 pm EST
A special will air on ABC on February 21, 2016 at 8pm, focused on the newest part of the U.S. parks: Star Wars Land. The new lands, being built at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, were officially announced at D23 Expo in Anaheim last August. The special, entitled The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60 focuses on the ongoing Diamond Anniversary of Disneyland, exploring the past, present, and future of the parks. Derek Hough will MC.
Harrison Ford will host the Star Wars Land portion of the special, a press release announced. No additional details on what will be previewed were given, but with concept art and leaked layouts out there, it's possible we'll see some more of that in an official capacity.
While not much has come out about Star Wars Land at Walt Disney World, where it will be built at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the Disneyland park in Anaheim, CA has had a bit more public progress. There, they shut down several attractions to prepare to break ground on the park, and details about the layout and some attractions have leaked.
The televised Diamond Celebration will include performances from Elton John, Josh Gad, and Witney Carson, plus a live performance of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" by the LA Philharmonic conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.
