Star Wars R2-D2 Reimagined as Groot, Buzz Lightyear, and More

These weren't the droids we were looking for, but we'll certainly take them.

Through Sideshow Collectibles, more than 90 artists have reimagined the Galaxy's favorite droid as, well, just about everything imaginable. With famed artists like Adi Granov and more providing makeovers, R2 now looks like Finn from Adventure Time, Oscar The Grouch, Groot, and even Buzz Lightyear.

As part of the R2-ME2 project, Sideshow commissioned a blank prototype of their Deluxe R2-D2 Sixth-scale figures and let the artists have their way with them. As the results show, the Force was obviously strong in each of their decisions. You can check out a large portion of them in the gallery below, and head to Sideshow for even redesigns. 

Not a bad way to spend Star Wars Day, no?
