CBS has ordered an additional seven episodes of their hit superhero drama Supergirl, giving the series a full first season run of 20 episodes.

Tapping into the superheroes-on-TV zeitgeist, Supergirl has had stellar a performance in the ratings, averaging 11.24 million viewers since its Oct. 26 premiere.

The success of Supergirl should surprise no one as it was developed by Greg Berlanti, who launched Arrow and The Flash on the CW. Berlanti executive produces the series, alongside Ali Adler, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, Superman's cousin who struggles to find her place in the world and step out of her cousin's shadow. The series also stars Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh and Jeremy Jordan with David Harewood and Calista Flockhart.

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
