Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows Gets Honest Trailer

The folks over at Screen Junkies have become recognized across the globe for their trailer parody series, Honest Trailers.

Much like the CinemaSins series, these videos are adored by fans for their meticlulous bashing of certain films. Unlike CinemasSins, however, Honest Trailers break down the film based on the trailers, rather than a run-through of the entire movie. The final product results in a trailer that points out the flaws in a movie, instead of making it look awesome.

Fans love the videos for the fun they poke at certain films, and how accurate their commentary on the movies actually are. This week, Honest Trailers tackled the 2016 blockbuster, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows.

Out of the gate, the video bashed the writing and concept of the film. The film listened to TMNT fans, and added everything they had asked for, but the Honest Trailer points out that the movie still bombed regardless.

Honest Trailers also made a point to single out Stephen Amell for his performance as Casey Jones.The character is beloved by TMNT fans, but Amell's take on the hockey player seemed to have missed the mark. The video contributed the misrepresentation of the character to the laziness of the writers, as much as Amell's performance. What they disliked even more, however, was Stephen's claim that this version of the character was perfectly adapted.

Throughout the video are complaints about Megan Fox, questions about Will Arnett's decision making, and the overall lack of storytelling in the film.

All in all, Honest Trailers was pretty harsh on Out Of The Shadows. Fans and critics both seemed to agree, as the film bombed in the box office, as well as in the reviews.
