With the whole word seemingly under Pokemon GO's addictive charm, players have been using the augmented-reality game to visualize what it'd be like to encounter pokemon in the real world. However, artist Dane Cozens has taken the pocket monsters and newly reimagined what their IRL counterparts would look like in several stunningly terrifying posters.

An illustrator and concept artist, Cozens uploaded three posters to his online gallery which all showcase what the franchise's original starters would look like after they were all leveled up. Featuring Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur, the insanely realistic images illustrate what each evolution would look like, and many fans are unsure whether they'd try to catch the creatures or straight-up run away.

Cozens took time to comment on the series and write about what inspired him to create these pieces of artwork. "I began drawing realistic Pokémon when I was 10," he recalled. "Recently, I decided to revisit this challenge and understand the story of the pokémon world. In this suburban sci-fi world, children and teenagers leave home to go on a rite of passage. To prove their worth, the children capture, train, and battle with monsters. In my posters, the children use pokédex, a cellphone-like computer, to scan the fully-evolved versions of three important pokémon."

With rumors swirling that film studios are vying for rights to a live-action Pokemon film, these posters are definitely whetting fans' appetites for such a project. Perhaps Hollywood should start ringing Cozens up to get more concept art underway as his current artwork is leaving fans breathless.

Hailing from Savannah, GA, Cozens has multiple pieces posted to online gallery that pay homage to popular films franchises such as King Kong and Alice In Wonderland. His latest piece, entitled 'The Metamorphosis', nods at the famous literary work written by Franz Kafka in which a man is inexplicably turned into a cockroach following an existential crisis of sorts.

Check out the three gorgeous posters in our gallery and let us know what you think! Which pokemon would you like to see Cozens capture next?
