Twlight and Vampire Diaries Stars Producing CW Series Transcience

The Vampire Diaries's Ian Somerhalder may not be a leding man on The CW anymore, but he'll still be there in spirit.

Oh, and as a producer. Somerhalder is teaming with Twilight's Nikki Reed (who played Rosalie Hale) to bring Transience to the network as a producer. Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's recently-launched Rare Birds Productions are developing the series with Warner Bros. TV for The CW.

In Transience, "when consciousness transfers become legal in the near future, an ambitious young musician finally gets the kind of body and life that he wants. But the procedure has side effects, sending him down a dark rabbit hole where identity, memory and the past start to violently collide."

Somerhalder and Reed executive produce with Tracy Ryerson of Rare Birds. Brandon will serve as supervising producer. This is Brandon's first bite at the TV apple, although he's had success on stage and in short films.

After The Vampire Diaries ends, some of the cast members may theoretically move to The Originals, the series' spinoff, which wil take over the parent show's time slot when it comes to an end in March. Somerhalder is not expected to do so.
