Why Stepping On A Lego Hurts So Much

While Legos - much like Funko POP!s and bumper stickers - are a staple of the nerd community, they seem to be the most painful thing in the world to step on.

Unlike most toys, a Lego causes one's foot to feel pain that you previously believed to be impossible. It causes you to scream obscenities and whoever may have left it there, and wonder why you even like the little things in the first place.

Many have wondered why stepping on a Lego hurts so much, and 'Today i Found Out' has come to the rescue.

The popular YouTube channel dissected the pain related to Lego injuries, and the pain they cause actually makes a ton of sense.

First of all, they state that the sole of your foot is one of the most sensitive areas in the entire body. Along with your lips, eyes, genitals, and hands, the feet can feel much more than the rest of your body. This helps to intensify the pain left behind by the Lego.

Now, the Lego itself is a nearly unbreakable object - so that can only add to the problem. The video states that a single brick can withstand 953 lbs of pressure before it reaches its breaking point. With that kind of engineering, none of us could ever even bend the toy by stepping on it, so Legos just go right back into our foot.

When you step on the Lego, all of your weight goes down onto that single square inch of space. Combine that with the many knobs and sharp edges, and you've got a foot murderer on your hands.

Next time you're playing with Legos, be sure to pick them up. Stepping on a Lego is a fate you wouldn't wish on even the worst of enemies.

The LEGO Batman Movie is directed by Chris McKay and is written by Seth Grahame-Smith, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers, with additional screenplay help from Jared Stern and John Whittington.
