X-Men: Apocalypse - Cyclops and Havok's Parents Revealed
05/04/2015 03:08 pm EDT
X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has revealed Scott and Alex Summers' parents in a behind-the-scenes photo from the film's set.
As Singer notes in his Instagram photo, the parents are watching some cataclysmic event unfold on television. Whether it's the X-Men's battle with the villainous Apocalypse or not, remains to be seen.
The real question, however, is whether or not this set of parents have Summers blood running through their veins. In the Marvel comics, Scott (Cyclops) and Alex's (Havok) parents died in a plane crash when the brothers were only small children (and going even further down the continuity rabbit hole, their father Corsair actually survived and became a space pirate). It's possible that these parents are of the foster variety, but Singer's post didn't clarify. As of now, the film's official IMDB page doesn't have any elder characters with the name "Summers" attached. But, that could easily change.
Stay tuned for more X-Men: Apocalypse updates as they occur.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
