Warning! Spoilers for Dragon Ball Super's 100th episode lie below:

When it comes to the Saiyan race, there are plenty of mysteries which the franchise has yet to address. The race's history is a rather complicated one, and it only got more complex when Dragon Ball Super introduced the Saiyans of Universe 6. But, it could be thanks to the fighters that a new secret about the Saiyans will get unlocked.

In the most recent episode of Dragon Ball Super, fans watched as Kale finally went Super Saiyan against Goku during the Tournament of Power. The form caught everyone's attention as its massive ki overpowered many of the event's fighters, but it was Vegeta's reaction that grabbed attention. Staring in shock, the Universe 7 fighter noted Kale's form "might be the Saiyan's true form!"

The comment stirred up plenty of discussion online as Vegeta's note seems to indicate something about the Saiyan race. As fans know, Universe 6 has Saiyans who are biologically different from Goku; The warrior race evolved differently without Freeza around to muck things up, so Universe 6 has evolved beyond needing tails or the power of Oozaru.

Without Oozaru to power the Saiyans, Universe 6's race may be in need of a handicap. After all, the Great Ape transformation is a powerful one, and Universe 6 would be vulnerable if they didn't have some power on par with the form. As such, fans have started to speculate whether the Saiyans of Universe 6 are more easily pre-disposed to going Super Saiyans than their counterparts. Evolution may make it easier to go Super Saiyan on a biological level as a way to make up for the loss of Oozaru, and Kale's form may be even more powered due to her repressed anger.

Of course, it will come down to Dragon Ball Super to explain Kale's form in detail. Fans can only create fan-theories with their current knowledge. There is also a chance Dragon Ball Super created the Saiyan's power-up without any reasoning, and it wouldn't be the first time the series did such a thing. Dragon Ball is known for its battles, and fighters like Gohan have whipped out new powers seemingly out of nowhere to keep up. So, if Kale's berserker form never gets addressed, fans really shouldn't be too surprised.

The synopsis of Dragon Ball Super's current saga can be read here: "According to an invitation that Goku gets, Zen-Oh (Omni King) is starting a martial arts tournament between all the universes called "Chikara no Taikai" (Tournament of Power). But it is the beginning of universal destruction. Something awaits the winners and losers of this tournament. What will become of this fierce team battle between each universe's elite warriors?
