EXCLUSIVE: Get Your First Look Preview Of Fighting American #1

If you've missed the presence of a true star spangled hero, Titan Comics has you covered with the return of the Fighting American.

Titan Comics has given ComicBook.com an exclusive interior preview of the upcoming series, written by Gordon Rennie and drawn by Duke Mighten. As you'll immediately notice, the book and the character are throwbacks to classic comics, fitting since names like Joe Simon and Jack Kirby were behind the character's creation.

The new series will bring the Fighting American and his sidekick Speedy from the 1950's into the present day, and as you can expect the transition won't be without its failings. Not only will the heroes have to adjust to new technology and deadlier threats, but they'll also have to adjust to a world that doesn't exactly know what to make of them.

You can view the covers for the anticipated return as well as interiors in the gallery.

Fighting American was originally created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby as an answer to Marvel for right disputes regarding Captain America. Not hard to see the similarities mind you, but over time the character would come under the helming of Rob Liefeld's then Awesome Comics, where it would get some modern (for the time) updates.

Titan Comics is going for the best of both worlds with this series though, bringing back the classic characters and concepts and thrusting them into the modern day. With all the heaviness of superheroes these days, it seems the Fighting American arrived just in time.

You can view the images in the gallery, and you can find the synopsis and official description below.
