How The Batman V Superman Score Influenced Wonder Woman

Come find out how the memorable Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice track influenced the Wonder Woman soundtrack.

Director Patty Jenkins absolutely loves the brilliant and ferocious Wonder Woman theme that Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer and electric cellist Tina Guo came up with for the DC superheroine's big screen debut in Batman v Superman.

However, because Batman v Superman is set in the present, showing us a very adult version of the character, and Wonder Woman is set in the past, showing her grow from a young girl into a courageous warrior, Zimmer and Guo's theme was reworked to reflect Diana's youthfulness.

Wonder Woman composer, Rupert-Gregson Williams, explained how that track influenced his score. "The theme used in that film represents a Diana who is already a super hero, and confident in all things-warrior," Williams told Film Music Magazine. "In our origin movie, I needed to write a fresh theme and original music for the young Diana to represent her naivety. I composed for Diana knowing where the journey might end tonally. I enjoyed using cello playing of Tina Guo to show glimpses of what is to come!"
